As the Museum celebrates the opening of its first exhibition devoted to photography, Juan Fuentes and Armando Geneyro—street photographers, artists, and social activists—will introduce the collective of photographers and videographers known as Theyshootn, and discuss its growing impact at the nexus of visual art and social justice. Co-founded by Geneyro, Theyshootn connects photography with topics such as homelessness, drug abuse, and domestic violence from the viewpoint of new, up-and-coming artists. Fuentes will also present Old Denver, an online social archive dedicated to celebrating and documenting “the true spirit of the city”.

An Air Force veteran from California’s central coast, Armando Geneyro holds a political science degree from Metro State University. Juan Fuentes is a documentary photographer born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Both are based in Denver.
