See Like A Master Painter

Joanne Burney, artist, art instructor, and consultant

Artist Joanne Burney says delving into Clyfford Still’s compositions with a painter’s eye reveals an infrastructure of angular motifs that repeat like musical variations on a theme. These motifs are recapitulated throughout his career and offer new insight into the unique character of his art. Burney will explore these motifs and how they hide in Still’s work.

Award-winning painter Joanne Burney hails from New York City where she received her B.A. in Studio Arts from Queens College, City University of New York. She studied both abstract and figurative art and art history. She has been an art instructor, judge and consultant in the Denver area for many years.
