Teacher Professional Learning Workshop: The Early Years
How does an artist’s early work relate to their mature visual vocabulary? How can we support students in developing their own artistic styles? We will explore the exhibition The Early Years: Clyfford Still in Canada, 1920–1933 and consider the ways Clyfford Still’s work developed throughout his career. We will also brainstorm ways that artists’ early work can serve as models for students developing their own artistic voices. Participants will look closely, create their own artwork, collaborate with fellow educators, and make connections to their own teaching practice. Participating teachers will receive a certification of participation for three hours.
