About Virginia Folkestad
Virginia Folkestad is a Sculptor/Installation Artist who is a two-time recipient of the Artist Fellowship in Visual Arts Grant from the Colorado Council on the Arts. She was featured on the Art on TV production, Living Treasures of Colorado. She has been awarded residencies at Dorland Art Colony in California, the Vermont Studio Center, Vermont, the Rocky Mountain Women’s Institute and a 3 year Artist-in-Residence at RedLine, Denver.
Her work is represented in the Denver Public Art collection by Current 3 (cubed) a Light Installation on the historic Wynkoop Bridge, Denver and is also included in the Kaiser Permanente Collection, the Peter Kudla, Metropolitan Homes collection and many private collections.
Virginia’s work has been featured in solo and invitational exhibitions in Colorado including the Denver International Airport (DIA), Republic Plaza Building, University of Colorado, Museum of Outdoor Arts, Denver Center for Performing Arts, Metropolitan Center for Visual Arts (CVA). Her work has been shown extensively nationally including Santa Fe, NM, Carmel, California, Houston, Texas and New York City. and Internationally including the Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce, Slovakia. She is represented in Colorado by Sandra Phillips Gallery.
