The Art Newspaper: Single Artist Museum Finds Surprise Success

Veteran arts reporter Judith H. Dobrzynski covers the Clyfford Still Museum’s rapidly approaching third anniversary for the London-based Art Newspaper today, reporting impressive attendance numbers and citing the Museum’s ten original exhibitions as “one obvious key to success.” Museum director Dean Sobel is quoted in the article along with Denver Art Museum director Christoph Heinrich, who notes about the Museum, “Denver has really embraced it.”

Upon the opening of The War Begins: Clyfford Still’s Paths to Abstraction on Friday and a rotation of works on paper this month, the Museum will have displayed more than 500 works of art by Clyfford Still since opening in November of 2011.
