Happy hour with cash bar – 4-6 p.m.
Enjoy an exclusive first look at the new exhibition Dialogue and Defiance: Clyfford Still and the Abstract Expressionists during the Member Opening Day. Visit the Clyfford Still Museum anytime between 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. on May 10 before the public opening on May 11.
Guest curated by Valerie Hellstein, the exhibition considers the nuanced ways in which Clyfford Still was part of an artists’ community in the late 1940s and early 1950s, despite his protestations to the contrary, and how his paintings, through their scale and composition, promote ideas of community.
During the Member Opening Day, enjoy educator tours, brief remarks by CSM director Joyce Tsai, and happy hour in the Museum lobby from 4-6 p.m. with a cash bar with a selection of wine, beer, soft drinks, and snacks.
This opening day is free for CSM members; reservations are highly encouraged.
