Held Impermanence asks viewers how to gaze upon healing over time, how to respond with their bodies, how they might approach Still’s achievements from a perspective that contends with his and their own senses of mortality, and with it, a shared desire to hold impermanence.

We realize that these are big subjects that have the potential to evoke big emotions. We often see that Clyfford Still’s artwork naturally catalyzes this emotional expression. This exhibition leads us to ask how we might respond to young children when they’re experiencing big emotions and how we can lean into conversations about difficult topics as they come up. Join us for a workshop designed for adults caring for young children to explore how we might lean into these moments and embrace these conversations.

This program is $5 for the public and free for Museum members. Registration is required, and space is limited. Registration will open soon.
