Maker Mornings are designed for children ages 15 months to eight years old, with siblings of any age welcome. We spend time in the galleries with a librarian from Denver Public Libraries for storytime before entering The Making Space, the hands-on creation studio directly connected to our galleries. We explore various materials, expand our ideas of what it means to create, and express ourselves through art. The open-endedness of this time is intentional, allowing all children to interact with the activities in their own unique ways. We encourage you to observe what your child gravitates towards, ask questions, and get curious.
In response to our current exhibition, Still in Sound, we will explore the sounds we can hear and make in the galleries! How can we move our bodies in response to what we hear? Should we dance, jump, or stretch? How can you make art that looks like the sounds you hear? Join us as we explore our galleries and make art together!
This Maker Mornings session takes place on an SCFD Free Day; admission is free, and no registration is required.
