Request for Proposals: Golden Triangle Creative District Inaugural Annual Poster Artist
In partnership with the Clyfford Still Museum
Overview
The Golden Triangle Creative District (GTCD), in collaboration with the Clyfford Still Museum, is seeking a dynamic local artist to design the inaugural GTCD Annual Poster—a signature new project celebrating the creative identity of the Golden Triangle neighborhood and its vibrant arts and cultural scene.
This high-profile opportunity is more than a design commission. We’re looking for an artist excited to represent the district by participating in up to three community events, five public poster signings, and media interviews throughout the year.
Project Goals
- Launch an annual poster tradition that captures the creative energy and diversity of the Golden Triangle Creative District.
- Elevate a local artist each year as a cultural ambassador for the neighborhood.
- Engage the broader community through art, storytelling, and artist-led experiences.
- Build a unique revenue stream for GTCD, the Clyfford Still Museum, and the annual local artist.
Scope of Work
The selected artist will:
Create an Original Poster Design
- Produce one original, high-impact design (with feedback from GTCD and Clyfford Still Museum staff).
- The design should imaginatively feature the Clyfford Still Museum and the neighborhood in some way and include the text “Golden Triangle Creative District 2025-2026.” The final design will include small type at the bottom of the poster with the name of the artist, 2025-2026, Golden Triangle Creative District, and Clyfford Still Museum.
- Deliver final artwork in digital formats suitable for large-scale printing and web. If needed, the Museum can assist with scanning work into a high-quality digital format.
Serve as a Public-Facing Ambassador
- Attend up to three community events as availability allows, including the official poster reveal between October 2025 and October 2026.
- Participate in media opportunities, including interviews, social media content, and local press features.
- Be available for up to five limited poster signings at designated events, as availability allows.
Eligibility
- Open to visual artists based in the Denver Metro Area.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- All visual media welcome; the final artwork must be adaptable for print production.
- Artists from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Budget & Compensation
- $1,000 artist fee upon selection and contract signing.
- $200 appearance fee for each of the three community events, for a total of $600 for attending all three
- 20% revenue share from poster sales after GTCD and Clyfford Still Museum recoup production and marketing costs. See the attached proposed Artist Agreement for details.
- The Artist retains copyright and grants GTCD and CSM an exclusive and perpetual license for merchandising, reproduction, and promotion related to this project.
- Additional funds may be available for travel or materials on a case-by-case basis.
Promotion
- Complementary Kickass Marketing 20-hour Pack (value $2,200), which can be used on strategy, marketing, social, design, email, seo, website, event marketing, tech support, among others
- Inclusion on all press releases and primary marketing of the poster, including tags of social accounts and links to websites when applicable
- Quarterly social media campaign featuring/promoting the artist on GTCD channels
- Feature Blog post on GTCD promoting the artist
- Artist signage with a QR code to the artist’s preferred link at all events
- Hosted event at the Clyfford Still Museum
