Denver, CO – April 2, 2024 – The Clyfford Still Museum (CSM) will close the exhibition Spotlight: Inside Collections Care and Conservation on April 28 and open a week-long Interlude show on April 30.
On the closing day of Spotlight, CSM will offer free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for SCFD Free Day. The Museum staff recommends reserving the SCFD Free Day tickets online in advance, but walk-ins are welcome. Tickets will be available online one week before the SCFD Free Day.
Additionally, CSM will host art-making activities and performances on its outdoor forecourt during the city-wide celebration of Día del Niño. Artist Leticia Dominguez will lead a drop-in activity where participants will decorate screen-printed paper puppets created by Dominguez from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Local groups will present child-friendly dance performances at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. The Día del Niño activities do not require pre-registration.
To prepare for the installation of a new exhibition, CSM will deinstall the conservation spotlights from Spotlight, change the look of several gallery walls, and bring out two paintings from the next show. During this week-long Interlude from April 30 to May 5, the Museum will display a full chronological presentation of highlights from its collection. CSM will then close for exhibition installation from May 6–9 and open Dialogue and Defiance: Clyfford Still and the Abstract Expressionists on May 10 to Museum members and May 11 to the public.
